MATT ENGLE:
CO-FOUNDER & BUILDER

Matt Engle is a licensed general contractor and certified Building Biologist (BBNC) who founded Engle Built on a conviction that homes should support the health of the people who live in them. After years in conventional construction, he watched too many beautiful houses fail their occupants — moisture trapped behind walls, finishes that off-gassed for decades, electrical systems that filled bedrooms with unnecessary fields. He set out to build differently.

Today, every Engle Built project carries that same intent. Matt is hands-on through each phase, from site selection and material vetting to final commissioning. He works closely with each family to understand their sensitivities, their land, and the way they want to live, then engineers a home that performs structurally for generations while quietly serving their wellbeing.

For Matt, this is not a niche specialty — it’s the only honest way to build. He continues to study, test, and refine the craft, drawing from soil scientists, mold remediators, EMF specialists, and traditional builders whose methods predate the failures of modern construction. The result is a small portfolio of homes that he stands behind without reservation, and a growing client base of families who finally feel well in their own walls.

AMANDA & MATT ENGLE

Amanda and Matt Engle are partners in both life and work, building Engle Built on the shared belief that the spaces we inhabit shape who we become. Their approach looks to nature as both guide and teacher — drawing on the materials, rhythms, and intelligence of the natural world to inform how each home is designed, built, and lived in. Every project is an exercise in aligning the living space and its inhabitants with the environment surrounding them.

Alongside Engle Built, Amanda is the principal and co-founder of Beck & Engle, a design studio known for a thoughtful, holistic, and flawlessly orchestrated approach to interiors. Her work there listens closely to client needs, collaborates directly with builders and architects, and weaves timeless materials and architectural details into spaces that feel wholly like home. She also owns and operates The Source Pulse, a wellness practice helping clients reconnect with their bodies and the rhythms that sustain them. Both bring depth to everything she contributes at Engle Built — an understanding that environment is medicine, that the air we breathe and the light we wake to and the materials surrounding us are never neutral. Together, she and Matt translate that understanding into the homes they build.

They live and work in a region they love deeply, surrounded by the kind of landscape that reminds them daily why this work matters. Engle Built is small by design, with each project receiving the time, attention, and integrity it deserves. For Amanda and Matt, this is not a business strategy — it’s a way of being in relationship with the people who become their clients, and the homes that outlast all of us.
